A more natural
walking style
Unlike a conventional walking frame which forces
you to move forward slowly and in uncomfortable stages, your
Uniscan walker allows you to walk naturally. Simply hold the
comfortable non-slip handle grips and walk at your own speed,
using the front wheels to steer around obstacles.
You will quickly discover that the Uniscan walker
can help your posture and help eliminate the pain in your
shoulders and lumbar region normally associated with using
walking sticks or conventional walking frames.
Who needs a walking frame? What sort should they choose?
Take a look at our document Which Walker? for guidance.

Safety braking
system (pressure brakes)
The Uniscan walker features a safety braking
system. If while using the walker you should slip or stumble,
your own weight will automatically engage the pressure brake,
allowing the Uniscan to provide instant rigid support. The
brake is also automatically engaged while you are seated.

Sitting comfortably
When you are ready for a rest or need to take
the weight off your feet for a while, all you need do is lower
Uniscans seat. Then, using the hand grips for support,
you can safely turn around and sit down, leaning back against
the padded backrest.
While seated, your weight will engage the pressure
brakes and hold the Uniscan walker safely in place so that
it cannot slip or roll. |
 |
'One Touch' locking lever brakes
Some models feature 'One Touch' brakes instead of pressure
brakes. These operate like those on a bicycle. Squeeze the
levers to engage the brakes. Additionally, they can be locked
in the engaged position when you wish to use your walker as
a seat. |
 |
Portable and
easy to store
The Uniscan walker is very light and portable.
It can quickly and easily be folded and locked into the closed
position to be safely stowed in a cupboard or tucked into
the boot of a car. When folded the Uniscan will stand upright
without extra support.
