Uniscan News

21 Dec 2011
Uniscan Limited has been in business for almost 30 years and during that time we have always listened to any feedback about our products with an open mind. Recently some customers have mentioned a particular concern which has come to our attention previously. Essentially the feedback was that people with certain conditions need a little bit more room between the rear wheels, particularly if their feet kick out when they walk.

Taking these comments on board we have decided to make some changes. For obvious reasons we didn't want to make the standard frames any wider. So, we have decided to make the back wheel assemblies with single wheels instead of double. This change will be applicable to all models with locking lever brakes (with the exception of the Grand Glider Plus and the 27" wide frames). All models fitted with our safety pressure braking system will continue to feature the double rear wheel arrangement.

By removing the inner wheels it provides an extra 3" of space between the rear legs on both 4-leg and 3-leg models......and as the old adage goes, size really does matter!

The new design has been extensively tested and you can be assured that the walker strength and integrity is not affected in any way. It was successfully tested with a static load of 20st/127kg for several days, so our maximum user weight rating of 20st/127kg remains applicable.
