2008 Basildon Business Awards Finalists
21 May 2008

PRESS RELEASE…PRESS RELEASE...

UNISCAN LIMITED - MANUFACTURING & PRODUCTION AWARD FINALISTS FOR THE THIRD YEAR RUNNING

Celebrating 25 years of uninterrupted manufacturing in 2008, Uniscan Limited, winners of the Basildon business award in the manufacturing category for 2006 are hoping to repeat their success in the 2008 competition.

Runners up in 2007, the Basildon based Walking Frame Manufacturer are keen to make it third time lucky with a win in 2008. Competition for this prestigious award is tougher than ever with more entrants and a greater diversity of trades represented in this year’s event.

Initial applications have been whittled down to a handful of finalists who will each be visited by a team of field judges. Once the judging process is complete a special black tie dinner ceremony hailing the successes of local companies over the last year will be held. Representatives from the finalist companies will attend the award ceremony and as usual, the results will be a closely guarded secret, only being revealed at the last moment. The names of the winners will be announced, Oscar-style, from the stage.

Geoff Morris, Sales & Marketing Director commented
"We were justifiably proud to make the final in 2007 for the second year running but disappointed not to be on the winners rostrum for a second time. This just stiffened our resolve and as we said last year ‘we will be back’ and we are! To make the final for a third consecutive year and in our 25th anniversary year is a fantastic achievement and a credit to the Uniscan team. The field judging is tough but we will give it our best shot and who knows we may be lucky enough to stand on the winners rostrum once again”
