Basildon Business Award Finalists

The night of the year for the Basildon business community saw the town turn out in force to celebrate a year of high achievement.
Uniscan Limited, winners in the manufacturing category in 2006 found themselves up against some strong competition in this year’s event.
At the award ceremony presented by Basildon District Council at the Towngate Theatre on Friday, July 6, 2007, the Basildon based Walking Frame Manufacturer were unable to repeat last years success. However, all finalists in all categories were praised highly for the quality, enthusiasm and high standards demonstrated during the field judging visits.
At a special black tie dinner ceremony hailing the successes of local companies over the last year, representatives from the finalist companies vied for the awards. As usual, the results were a closely guarded secret, only being revealed at the last moment. The names of the winners were read out, Oscar-style, from the stage.
Initial applications in the manufacturing category were whittled down to just 9 finalists all of whom were invited to the award ceremony.
